A massive win was announced for Industry in the Sarnia community.

Ontario will kick in $1.5 million to an oversized load corridor project in Sarnia and St. Clair Township aimed at easing the movement of large industrial components shipped in and out of Chemical Valley.

That provincial funding, through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, will be added to $6 million from the federal government, $4 million from Cestar College, and local funding pledged to the project, currently estimated to cost approximately $17 million.

The corridor is designed to make it easier, and less expensive, for metal fabricators in Sarnia and Lambton County to ship large industrial vessels and components to customers outside of the region.

This Corridor will make a tremendous difference for our local customers and we couldn’t be happier for them.
