Construction is set to begin this summer on the new Cestar Dock, the final piece to complete the Oversize Load Corridor in Sarnia Lambton.

In early 2022, Cestar College made a generous $4 million donation towards the Sarnia-Lambton Oversized Load Corridor. Cestar College’s donation will be recognized with naming rights to the new dock facility which will be constructed as part of the project. The dock, located at the end of Exmouth Street, will be named “Cestar Dock.” Construction is slated to begin in June on the $8.2 million expansion of the north slip at Sarnia Harbour to accommodate larger vessels, and roll-on-roll-off loading of large items.

The oversized load corridor is a designated protected route on existing roadways connecting fabricators and Sarnia-Lambton’s industrial base to the Port of Sarnia for the unimpeded import/export and trans-shipment of oversized product.

The $17-million Oversized Load Corridor is funded, in part, by the National Trade Corridor Fund; the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund; and the Sarnia Lambton Industrial Alliance.
